Benefits of Primovist-enhanced liver-MRI for
liver disease
management and
patient outcomes
Watch the video below from a symposium on “Primovist-enhanced liver MRI: Benefits in HCC liver disease management & patient outcomes” recorded at ECR 2021. There were two talks presented at this symposium.
The first is presented by Professor Max Seidensticker from the Department of Radiology at the University Hospital in Munich, Germany. Professor Seidensticker discusses current challenges of western guidelines for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and results from the diagnostic part of the SORAMIC trial, showing how the inclusion of hepatobiliary phase imaging can improve the accuracy of treatment decision making compared to CT.
The second presentation by Professor Tae Wook Kang from the Department of Radiology at the Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, Korea explores application of Primovist-enhanced MRI in the context of Eastern HCC guidelines, which favor high sensitivity of HCC diagnosis to permit early treatment. Professor Kang presents results from a recent large retrospective study in more than 30,000 patients in Korea and shows how the inclusion of Primovist-enhanced MRI in addition to CT can improve patient survival in early stage disease.
